Québec Western: Discover country and western culture in Quebec

12 December 2014

Passionate about country and western culture, Melissa Maya Falkenberg and Marie-Hélène Taschereau, authors of the book entitled Québec Western, ville après ville, have decided to travel across Quebec to reveal the best of this lively culture. The new entertainment magazine Québec Western on Télé-Québec will follow their journey beginning Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m.

During the series, the two hosts will go behind the scenes of the famous Festival Western de Saint-Tite, and will take a tour of the Boulet Company, Canada’s largest cowboy boot factory. They will also take part in a “western” wedding, a “life-size” game with a Far West theme, and the biggest gathering of motorcyclists in Quebec, the Rodéo Mécanic. They offer an authentic journey into the heart of this colourful universe, populated by rodeo clowns, teepee makers, line dancers, caravanners, blacksmiths, modern cowboys, etc.

This tour of Quebec will help us learn more about country music stars who work in the industry, including Paul Daraîche and his sister Julie, Stephen Faulkner, the Mountain Daisies, Gildor Roy, Maxime Landry, Irvin Blais and many more. We’ll also discover the cowboy side of many Quebec personalities such as Réal Béland, Denis Coderre, Marc Hervieux, MC Gilles and Chloé Ste-Marie. The towns and cities appearing on the itinerary include Bécancour, Hemmingford, Mirabel, Pont-Rouge, Saint-Barthélemy, Sainte-Madeleine, Saint-Hyacinthe, Saint-Tite, Tingwick, Trois-Rivières and Quebec City.

The two accomplices, Melissa Maya Falkenberg and Marie-Hélène Taschereau, invite you to join them beginning January 6 at 7:30 p.m. on Télé-Québec.
